The City of Toronto offers a full range of housing, from condominium apartments to large executive homes. The City of Toronto is one of the “greenest” urban regions in North America. Tree lined residential family streets and neighborhoods are located in the heart of the city, which is safe and friendly.
City of Toronto homes are most often traditional brick, single-family houses. The centre of the City of Toronto offers a variety of mostly detached and semi-detached houses. A limited number of town/row houses can be found centrally. Some central neighbourhoods feature handsomely restored and larger red brick homes from the Victorian era. In Toronto you will find that most people also have basements which are actively used for recreation. It is quite common to share a driveway with a neighbour or to park on the street. Some homes have private driveways and garages.
A number of new multi-story condominium apartment buildings have been built in all areas with a concentration near the central business district and in the old City of North York (near Yonge and Sheppard). The downtown core also features several former manufacturing and warehouse facilities that have been converted to modern lofts and condominiums.
